To our concern, this report contained a significant error in the assessment of the windows. This prompted us to question whether other crucial aspects may have been overlooked. Consequently, I requested a second survey to ensure the accuracy of the assessment. The second surveyor identified a crack in the foundation that extended from the ground to the roof, revealing a far more critical issue that the initial surveyor had missed. Regrettably, I do not wish to use their services again in the future.

The service was a little on the pricier side, but in my experience, you get what you pay for. Absolutely worth it for the peace of mind and promptness of their service. I also like their no-risk policy where no money changed hands until I was absolutely happy with the report.

Initially I had booked with a popular online residential survey company until i realised that they weren't properly qualified - in my view - to undertake the survey as their staff weren't chartered engineers or chartered building surveyors. I then came across Colin and was very glad i did. He is a chartered engineer, available at a reasonable timeline and competitively priced. He was also a pleasure to deal with throughout the process and would highly recommend. And even if you dont go with Colin, just make sure to check that they are either chartered engineer or chartered building surveyor at least so you can rest assured your report is undertaken by a qualified expert. But I'd recommend hiring Colin.
I contacted a number of companies to gain a residential property survey and Beacon were the speediest to respond and answer further queries in addition to being the most cost effective. I agreed to book with Beacon in the evening and by the following morning they had reached out to the estate agent and the inspection was confirmed and completed with the vendor the following evening. The report landed in my inbox the morning of the 3rd working day and was extremely thorough and very user friendly. I would highly recommend.
